Wachomi Foods exists so that no part of a Murang'a avocado goes to waste — and so the value flows back to the farmers who grew it.

Why we exist

Kenya grows the fruit.
Too little of the value stays.

Murang'a County is the heart of Kenya's smallholder avocado belt — yet most processors extract the oil and discard the rest, up to 85% of every fruit. Farmers carry the season's risk; the waste carries none of the cost.

Wachomi Foods is our answer: a zero-waste plant in the Kenol–Maragua–Sagana corridor where every stream leaving the gate is a product someone pays for — oil, butter, fertiliser, fuel — and the compost loops back to the farms that grew the fruit.

01 — Founder & CEO

Wale Afolabi

Wale builds companies from scratch. A technologist by background, he founded and self-funded a cross-border payments business that grew to serve North America, Europe and the UK, Australia, the Middle East and Africa. Wachomi applies that same operating discipline to a different kind of infrastructure: a zero-waste avocado plant in Murang'a. He builds it on the ground — two of every three months in Kenya.

Esther Waceke

Esther leads everything on the ground in Kenya. She managed her family's farm before Wachomi, so she knows the work from the soil up — and she negotiates farmgate terms in the languages farmers actually speak. She owns the site, county and farmer relationships, and the day-to-day path to first pressing in May 2027.
