Murang'a County · Central Highlands, Kenya
Nothing wasted.
Everything valued.
Wachomi Foods is building a zero-waste avocado processing plant in Murang'a County, Kenya. Cold-pressed oil for food and cosmetics. Butter, fertiliser and clean fuel from everything else.
Now in development. First pressing targeted for May 2027.
What we'll make
One fruit. Four products at launch.
Zero waste.
1 fruit
Ripe Hass, in from the orchard
Compost loops back to the farms that grew the fruit
Cold-pressed avocado oil
Two grades from day one: culinary extra virgin, and unrefined crude for cosmetic formulators. Bulk and bottled.
Avocado butter
Cosmetic-grade, for skincare and haircare formulators.
Organic fertiliser
Composted press cake, sold back to our supplying farmers below retail.
Biomass briquettes
Seeds and skins, dried and pressed. They fire our own dryers first; the surplus is sold.
Avocado ingredients — phase two
Seed powder and fruit powder lines to follow once the oil line runs at steady state.
Where
The right corridor for avocados.
Our plant will sit in the Kenol–Maragua–Sagana corridor of Murang'a County — the heart of Kenya's smallholder Hass belt. We source directly from established smallholder farmer networks, with traceability from orchard to press.
